“The treatments provide me with peace, support, and stability, and I remain grateful for that every week.”
My first introduction to Leonardus was over fifteen years ago. At the time, I did not have any serious complaints, but I noticed that the treatments gave me a great deal of peace. My mind became calmer and I felt better balanced. Therefore, I continued to return regularly for maintenance treatments, usually once every three to four months. Additionally, Leon always managed to reassure me whenever something was bothering me.
From first symptoms to the ALS diagnosis
In the summer of 2018, my first physical symptoms began. I started suffering from muscle twitches in my back and felt tingling sensations that no longer went away. A long medical search followed. Via the neurologist in Maastricht, I eventually ended up at the Muscle Center in Utrecht. Initially, MMN was suspected, a muscle disease with which people can often live to an old age. I received protein treatments for three years, but while others noticed improvement, these unfortunately had little effect for me.
Everything changed in February 2022 when I was diagnosed with ALS.
That was, of course, a profound period for me and my family. From that moment on, I also received more intensive treatment at Leonardus. In the beginning, I went to Leon three times a week; later, this was reduced to twice a week. Those treatments still provide me with a lot of peace. Especially when Leon treats the area around my head, I feel my body relax and I sometimes almost fall asleep. Every time, I notice that I am calmer after a treatment, both physically and mentally.
Peace, stability, and quality of life
Leonardus cannot take ALS away, and I have never thought otherwise. What I do experience is that the treatments contribute to my well-being and quality of life. Despite my illness, I have been stable for a long time and have not had a significant relapse. That means a lot to me and my family.
In June 2022, I was placed on sick leave by my employer. At the time, it was expected that I would decline rapidly. Nevertheless, I continued to work voluntarily for three days a week after that, because I enjoyed my work so much. I worked at the fire department dispatch center and was also active as a volunteer firefighter in the municipality of Valkenburg.
When I officially left my employment in June 2024, after two years of illness, it was difficult for me. My work was an important part of my life and I miss it every day.
When I look back on my life, I see how much has changed. I was active for the fire department day and night. I was always busy and ready to help others. Now I have to receive help and ask for help myself. That has been a major transition.
That is precisely why moments of peace and relaxation have become so valuable to me. The treatments at Leonardus provide me with that peace. They help me to better cope with the challenges that my illness brings and, in my opinion, contribute to maintaining my quality of life.
I would certainly recommend that people who are not feeling well physically or mentally contact Leonardus. To people who have doubts about energetic therapy, I would say: give it a chance. There is no harm in trying. Only when you experience it for yourself can you judge what it can mean for you.
For me, the treatments have now become a permanent part of my life. They provide me with peace, support, and stability, and I remain grateful for that every week.
