“The fact that I have found peace and am able to cope with it.”
At the beginning of 2022, I discovered a lump in my neck. Since I work in a pharmacy, I had it looked at fairly quickly. Hospital examinations followed, and on March 25, 2022, I received the results: it was malignant. That message was completely unexpected. I hadn’t considered it for a moment.
Unexpected results and the need for support
After the surgery, it appeared that the tumor in my thyroid had grown toward my trachea. As a result, not everything could be removed. An intensive treatment process followed, involving radioactive iodine, thyroid medication, and regular checks of my lymph nodes. Fortunately, the outlook is now positive, and the latest scans and blood values were good. Nevertheless, the uncertainty remained. When you go through something like this, a lot changes. You don’t know exactly what the future holds, and that takes a significant mental toll.
I experienced the care in the hospital as good and had confidence in my treatment team. At the same time, I noticed that some conversations were primarily focused on the medical side of the story. That is understandable, but especially during such a period, I also felt a need for more peace and support.
I heard about Energetisch Centrum Leonardus through acquaintances. To be honest, my first thought was: “That as well.” Yet it stayed in my mind. I noticed how much tension and unrest the situation brought with it and felt that I was looking for something that could help me cope with it better.
Treatments and inner peace
On December 21, I started treatments with Leon. In the beginning, I even came twice a week. During the first treatments, I mainly noticed how full my head actually was. After about three or four treatments, that slowly began to change. My head felt less full, and I experienced more peace.
That has perhaps been the biggest change for me. Not that all the uncertainty disappeared, but I learned to cope with it better. During the treatments, I sometimes feel pressure in certain places in my body, even though Leon hardly touches me. I cannot explain exactly how that works. What I do know is that after a treatment, I often go home feeling calmer and more relaxed.
A different perspective on life and trust
Because of everything I have been through, I have also started to look at life differently. Where I used to feel that the entire household had to be finished before I could relax, I now think much more often: that can wait until tomorrow. I have become more aware of what is truly important and try to listen better to my body and my limits.
In the first period after my diagnosis, I was very preoccupied with illness and death. This was also related to my mother, who passed away from breast cancer at a young age. That memory sometimes made it extra difficult. Yet I notice that trust is slowly returning. I dare to look forward more often and increasingly feel that things are allowed to be okay.
For me, Leonardus has been a valuable addition to the regular care I received. Not as a replacement, but as support that helped me find more peace during a period full of uncertainty.
I will never tell others that they should do the same as I did. Everyone makes their own choices in that regard. What I do is share my experience. If someone is looking for additional support, I say: take a look at the website, read the experiences, and above all, decide for yourself if it suits you.
