The significant results I see time and again in working with seriously ill cancer patients inspired me, Leon Bemelmans, to conduct research. For what if we knew why and through which mechanisms of action we make a difference in treating the disease? How can we then eventually transfer this method to other therapists so that more people benefit from this complementary treatment? These and other questions were central to me in setting up in-depth scientific research.
With this, I want to make tangible what I see happening in practice: an improvement in the quality of life by stimulating a change at the cellular level. In short, making the impact of energetic therapy measurable at various levels. The ultimate goal is for this form of treatment to be used as a standard complementary component in medical trajectories, by gaining recognition for the effectiveness of the treatment.
After more than six years of studies, we are now focusing our scientific research on three important main routes: clinical research, cell studies, and frequency research.
Clinical research
We are preparing this in collaboration with pulmonologist F. Custers at the Zuyderland Medical Center (Heerlen and Sittard-Geleen locations). The study focuses on lung cancer patients and examines how energetic Leonardus therapy affects the quality of life.
Cell studies
In these, we investigate the effects of energetic therapy at the cellular level on human cancer cells and on the functioning of human blood cells. We collaborate with partners such as Medace B.V. and the Synapse Research Institute.
Frequency research
This involves EEG measurements of both the energetic therapist and the client, in collaboration with Maastricht University. In addition, we are expanding the measurements at Eurotempest B.V. (a specialist in electromagnetic measurements, located in Nuenen), where we look at electromagnetic radiation originating from the therapist.
Prior to these studies, scientific preliminary research took place with mouse cancer cells at the Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania. We also conducted an initial frequency study at Eurotempest in Nuenen, where the therapist’s frequency was measured in a Faraday cage. A documentary has been made about these studies, featuring the stories of both the scientific partners involved and the patients.
Change at the cellular level
People can start the energetic treatment process at different points in their medical trajectory.
This is an intensive trajectory where a person receives treatment an average of 2-3 times per week for several months. It is aimed at “activating” the body’s regenerative capacity. This leads to an improvement in the quality of life and, where possible, the reduction of tumors and the stimulation of healthy cell production.
